Updated: Feb 15

Lift and Contour Your Face With One Treatment...

Have you tried everything from collagen supplements to the best anti-aging creams and serums in the pursuit of younger looking skin? Then maybe it’s time to ditch those supplements and try Ultherapy, the latest anti-aging, non-invasive treatment from The Otto Clinic that delivers face, neck and décolletage lifts without the pain of surgery.

Before we get into answering all your questions on Ultherapy, let’s first examine the top benefits of the treatment:

· Scientifically proven to stimulate new collagen and elastin

· Results can last for over a year depending on patient

· Totally non-invasive so minimal downtime

Why are Collagen & Elastin So Important?

As we all know, collagen and elastin are both important building blocks within our skin. Produced by special cells called fibroblasts, collagen provides strength and stability, while elastin is a highly elastic protein that helps skin to return to its original position after movement. As we age, our skin loses both collagen and elastin which leads to sagging and laxity. Normal daily expression means that our faces are constantly subjected to movement and pressure and over time the loss of elastin and collagen really takes its toll. And why is this important? Because in order to lift and tighten skin effectively, collagen and elastin production must be stimulated.

So what is Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is a procedure that uses micro-focused ultrasound energy to boost the regenerative process within the skin enabling it to kick start production of wonderful, fresh, new collagen and elastin. The ultimate effects of this treatment are that skin tissue is repaired and tightened. This scientifically proven treatment also dramatically improves the appearance of lines and wrinkles giving a visibly lifted, younger looking appearance. To date, 1 million treatments have been carried out worldwide with celebrities including Jennifer Anniston and Christie Brinkley attributing their youthful looks to the treatment.

How Does Ultherapy Work?

Ultherapy gently bypasses the surface of the skin to heat the underlying dermis, delivering the perfect amount of ultrasound energy at the right depth and temperature to trigger the regeneration of fresh, new collagen. It is a very precise treatment and can be used to specifically target the upper and lower face, neck and décolletage to lift, tighten and sculpt where needed.

Is Ultherapy the same as a Facelift?

While Ultherapy will not duplicate the results of a facelift, it targets the same layer that is lifted and tightened during a facelift. Ultherapy is a clinically proven non-invasive alternative for those who have had a facelift and wish to prolong the results, those considering a facelift but not ready for surgery and those who are committed to non-invasive skin tightening procedures only.

How long does it take to see the results of Ultherapy?

Some patients may see an initial effect immediately after their treatment, but the real results appear over 2−3 months as new collagen is formed and works to lift and tighten.

What happens during an Ultherapy treatment?

The treatment itself starts with the application of ultrasound gel to the skin. Ultrasound imaging is then used to see deep within the skin in order to pinpoint exactly where to treat within the skin. Each treatment is totally unique and tailored to the individual patient. The energy is then applied beneath the skin’s surface using a hand held applicator. During the treatment delivery, you will feel tiny amounts of energy being deposited to precise depths, indicating that the collagen-building process has been initiated.

Does Ultherapy Hurt?

Comfort levels can vary from person to person, but the sensation only lasts while the energy is being delivered.

How long does it take?

The length of your treatment will depend on the area being treated and your individual treatment plan. A face and neck procedure can typically take 60-90 minutes, while a chest treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.

Certainly if you're averse to surgical treatments, this is a really good alternative, requiring maintenance of only one treatment per year. As Christie Brinkley says "Ultherapy tells your skin to 'act like you used to' and over time after you do the treatment, your skin gets younger and younger" (see full video clip below).
