BENEFITS of PRP with HA Injections
-
A Natural Filler: Platelet Rich Fibrin rejuvenates skin while restoring lost facial volume without using synthetic fillers. Using your own blood as a base, PRF is the most organic filler possible. As it is completely natural, you need not fear allergies or complications.
-
Tissue Regeneration: PRF contains a high concentration of platelets, white blood cells, and growth factors that stimulate collagen production and cell turnover. The fibrin matrix provides the structural support to fill the injected area, helps repair damaged cells and reduces inflammation.
-
Skin texture and tone: PRF suits all skin types and improves texture and elasticity to achieve a brighter, more even-toned look.
-
In A Nutshell: PRF is an excellent choice for improving fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, dark under-eye bags and lost volume around the face while acting as a completely organic filler - ideal for anyone who does not want to use traditional fillers.
Platelet Rich Fibrin combines the regenerative abilities of traditional PRP with the ability to plump out lost facial volume
What Is Platelet Rich Fibrin?
Platelet-rich fibrin, or PRF, has a long history of use for tissue regeneration and wound healing in the world of orthopaedics and oral surgery. It is a highly advanced technique that uses the patients' own blood to regenerate healthy tissue and act as a filler in areas where volume has been lost. It is the second generation of platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Harvested from the patient's blood, PRF is a powerful blend of platelets, fibrin and growth factors that work together at the treatment site to trigger cell turnover, increase collagen and elastin production, fill in and volumise skin and give your complexion a subtle, youthful glow. PRF is a superb option to deal with more mature skin. It is also an excellent treatment for acne scarring and under-eye issues such as dark circles and under-eye bags.
What are Platelets and Fibrin?
Blood contains red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma and platelets. When you get a cut, platelets (cell fragments that play an important role in forming blood clots) collect and stick to the edge of the cut in the blood vessel. Then, the platelets release chemicals that produce thread-like substances called “fibrin”. Fibrin is a blood protein that forms a net-like matrix across the opening of a wound. This enables the platelets to stick together and form a solid barrier to stop bleeding and begin the healing process. The fibrin network, now embedded with platelets and growth factors, provides structural support for tissue regeneration and reduces inflammation.
In the context of aesthetics, the platelets injected into problem areas such as wrinkles and lost volume initiate tissue regeneration and volume restoration. At the same time, the fibrin matrix provides structural support and keeps growth factors in the treated area to achieve more visible, long-lasting results.
What Can PRF treat?
Platelet Rich Fibrin is used to treat the following skin issues:
-
Skin Rejuvenation, ideal for more mature skin conditions
-
Acne Scarring
-
Volume Loss - restores volume in hollow areas such as the cheeks
-
Eye Rejuvenation - excellent for dark circles and under-eye bags
-
Neck, Decolletage and Hand Rejuvenation
-
Skin Tightening
-
Uneven Skin Tone
How Do PRF Injections Work?
The Technique:
Step 1: PRF is obtained by taking a small sample of the patient's blood immediately before treatment. The blood is spun slowly through a centrifuge to separate the platelets and fibrin from the other blood components.
Step 2: When the PRF has reached a gel-like consistency, it is drawn into a syringe ready for treatment.
Step 3: The PRF solution is then injected into the deeper layers of the skin using very fine needles - injection points will be decided at the initial consultation depending on the skin issues presented.
Platelet Rich Fibrin:
What You Need to Know
-
How Does PRP Work?Once the consultation and patient case study phase is concluded, a small amount of blood is taken and passed through a centrifuge system to separate the platelets and fibrin from the red blood cells – this concentrate, known as the matrix, is then injected into the areas to be treated. Note the plasma remains alive in the treated area for approximately 7 days but the activity of the stem cells in the plasma continues working for about 3 months.
-
Is PRP Therapy Safe?Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy is the safest non-invasive procedure available in the market today because you are using cells from your own body therefore there can be no allergic reaction: • It’s the only treatment of this type that can be injected into the tear trough of the eye without fear of any adverse effects • No surgery/no anaesthetic • Completely safe and natural – no synthetic substances/no danger of allergic reactions or infections • Walk-in Walk-out procedure – minimal disruption to your life Above all, the treatment is virtually painless and patients can look forward to a fast recovery.
-
Where Can PRP Be Used?Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy can be used on the face, neck, hands and all over the body with excellent results: skin is re-plumped and rejuvenated; fine lines and wrinkles are reduced; skin contours are redefined to create a youthful, radiant bloom; skin is stimulated by the growth factors in the plasma to repair and rejuvenate itself. It is hugely successful in the treatment of areas such as: crow’s feet “crepey” eyelids acne scarring/scars in general wrinkles/fine lines around nose, lips, mouth sagging skin in the neck area stretch marks burned skin
-
What Does PRP Feel Like?Prior to treatment, the patient’s skin is numbed with a topical anaesthetic and plasma is then injected into the Upper Dermis – the patient may experience a sensation of tiny pin pricks but feedback from clients indicates that this sensation is not at all uncomfortable.
-
What After-Care Is Needed?Patient will experience slight swelling but this will usually disappear in 24 hours. In cases where patients are prone to bruising easily, slight bruising may be evident, but as with any other filler, this is easily covered with make-up.
-
How Long Will The Effects Of PRP Last?In cases where skin is not deeply wrinkled/badly scarred or burned, follow-up treatments are recommended on an annual basis. In the case of damaged or quite wrinkled skin, a follow-up treatment is advised for 3 months later and thereafter on an annual basis.
-
Who Is Not Suitable For PRP?Because you are using cells from your own body, there can be no allergic reaction, therefore PRP is suitable for most people however if you have any concerns or specific medical conditions, we will advise you during the pre-treatment consultation whether the procedure is safe for you or not. Following consultation, the patient is advised on dietary changes required to aid the process e.g. increase intake of Vitamin C and water, and avoidance of stimulants such as coffee, alcohol and cigarettes. Patients will experience much more effective and satisfactory results if they follow these guidelines.
-
Are There Any Side Effects? No unnatural substances are used, therefore there is no danger of adverse/allergic reactions because you are using your own cells.
